T036 School In Brown Brick

Well I’ve started a new model. I’ve chosen the T036 School in brown brick from Scalescenes, and to be honest, I got a little bit carried away. This is the first model I’ve done for nearly eighteen months. I’ve was so carried away, I forgot to take photos. It seems normal service has been resumed. I cant stop putting it together.
I’ve taken some pictures of what’s been done so far. Just not as they were made. Sorry.
To be honest, there is a lot of cutting out of structural components to start with, so not much to show as yet. But there is still plenty of fine detail to be added along the way.

I like the way it covers raw edges of the card.

All of the walls are adorned with both detailed exterior detail and interesting interior features.

My wife Jak has been getting a new lamp from the Daylight Company. And seen as it is quite a stylish looking as well as practical light, I think it may be a light that finds a permanent place on my craft table.

In the next post I will have more pictures of the building process.

Here We Go Again………………..

Hello again. I’m back after quite a long break from blog land. Eighteen months to be precise. I’ve had a few false starts in trying to get back in the swing of making my models, but this time I think I’m ready.

So, last week I contacted my good friend at scalescenes to see what kits I’ve been missing out on since I last visited his site. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. So much to choose from. I opted for the T036 School in Brown Brick. Once I download the kit I dug out my trusty laser printer from the loft. It had been mothballed since I’d stopped modelling all those months ago. Well, low and behold I couldn’t get the damn thing working. The print quality I was getting was terrible. Not to worry, I would just pop down to work and print a couple of sheets off  to me going. Would you believe that printer was not printing correctly either! All of the colour balances were out. It looked terrible. At this point I was devastated to say the least. I really wanted to get down and get my model started. So I looked up on line for a set of toner cartridges for my old printer. I knew they wouldn’t be cheap and I wasn’t convinced it would solve my problem. So I bit the bullet and bought myself a new printer. I’ve had to wait until today for it to be delivered and I’m chomping at the bit ready to go. The printer is all set up and ready to go now and I’m a happy chappy.

This is the printer I’ve opted for. It’s a Xerox Phaser 6600.

I’ve printed out all of my sheets and I’m very pleased with the results. I’m all ready now to start this model. Roll on tomorrow. Watch this space.

Until next time……………
