Hello there...............

I know I’ve been away for a while, but I’m attempting to making a return. The reason I’ve been away is two fold, one I’ve had a really bad bout off tennis elbow which has halted all of my model making, and two, I’ve had to pack all of my model making stash away to accommodate our oldest daughter and grandson coming back home to live. Since having several steroid injections and various supports to help with the pain and sorting a space in the loft to work, I think I’m ready to attempt a model.

The model I’m going to attempt on my return will be the new, not yet released, Modern Cargo Ship from Scalescenes. I’ve been waiting for an age for this model and it should be released within the next couple of weeks. While I’ve been patiently waiting for it to be released, I’ve had some reliable inside information from the designer of the ship at Scalescenes, that it could be a choice of either a bulk carrier or it will take a cargo of containers. So, I set to and made a stock of 20’ and 40’ containers. These are the T031 kit available at Scalescenes. I’m reliably informed that the ship will be 920mm long, so it will accommodate 4 stacks of containers 3 wide and 3 high. So a full load will be 36. The containers are simple to build, being of a simple box construction, and there is a wide range of liveries in the kit.

So, now that I have a full cargo of containers, hopefully I’ll get the kit within the next couple of weeks, and I can make a start and get back to letting you see how my model making with Scalescenes comes along.

Until next time.................
